Keep Moving Forward
When you are working on improving something in your life, the most important thing determining your success is to keep going.
Some days the progress will seem non-existent. Remember those small gains are still gains.
Don’t give up and congratulate yourself for all the momentum you are gaining
Stay positive
No matter your circumstances, you can choose to view it from a positive or negative position. Find a reason to be positive.
There’s usually something positive in any situation, sometimes you just have to look a little harder. Trust yourself. Talking out a decision with someone close to you can be a great way to help you decide which direction to take.
But avoid the tendency to seek validation for the choices you want to make.
Trust yourself enough to make your own decisions.
What actions will you take today? No matter your circumstances, you can choose to view it from a positive or negative position.
There’s usually something positive in any situation, sometimes you just have to look a little harder. Be proud of yourself for every win. We can have a tendency to downplay our accomplishments.
While what we did may seem small compared to our goals, every win counts!
Celebrate any step you take in the right direction and accept compliments and recognition with gratitude.
You are changing your life and taking steps to achieve your goals
Let Go Of Your Bad Habits
Say goodbye to the habits and thoughts holding you back. I am not telling you to stop drinking or having fun. But maybe you need a bit of balance? I sure did. By my birthday, I noticed I was having a little too much fun and wasn’t taking action based on my priorities, which have always been helping my family get to the next level.
When I really delved into it I realized I wasn't doing all I could do. I believe my goal here is to not only do my best but to elevate my husband to do him and ensure our daughter is set up to continue helping our family grow.
In this new year of my life, I am focused on change. I have a new job, my daughter is graduating from high school and going off to college and my husband and I will be empty nesters 😳
Changes can be scary but also exciting! When you look at things from a positive perspective, your whole outlook can transform.
Look For Inspiration
People look at my social media and think I have always been this shining light of positivity. You couldn’t be more wrong. Up until my mid 30’s, I was the worst pessimistic. Even my husband, who is a recovering pessimistic used to call me out on how negative I was! I’m not exactly sure what caused my change, I know it started with Mel Robbins but I don’t remember why I found her. Regardless, I found all these people who were successful all due to their mindset. I am an obsessive personality anyway so I devoured everything I could. I started adopting their ways of thinking and was amazed at what I accomplished.
To this day I study the greats. I don't adopt everything because I may want part of their life but not all. At the end of the day, I don't have that many real-life examples of the person I want to be. So as I am making those connections, I need to read books and pick ay what males sense for me. I also realize they may not be there. I may be making my own prototype. But I can pick the best parts of those successful people.
Look for opportunities to smile today. You find what you are searching for. When you look for the positive in any situation, you will find it. Unfortunately, many people do the opposite.
Acknowledge the challenges you have, but look for something good as well.
Maybe the risk you took didn’t pay off, but what did you learn? Who did you meet along the way? What exciting times did you get to live out?
Use that knowledge and those experiences to lead you to your next adventure.
Make the best decisions you can at the moment. Life is a collection of a huge amount of decisions you make throughout the day.
Trust yourself to make the best decision possible in that exact moment by getting clear with your goals and values.
Avoid the pull to overanalyze the different ways you could have handled things after the fact.
Just do your best, learn from any mistakes and move along.
